Advertiser Disclosure
Last updated September 1, 2026
Women’s Outfront is free to read. It stays free because the site earns money, and we think you should know exactly how, so you can weigh what you read here accordingly.
This page explains every way we make money, what those arrangements do and do not buy, and how to spot a paid link when you see one. We publish it because the Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of material connections between a publisher and the products it writes about, and because a site that gives money advice while hiding its own funding has no business asking for your trust.
How We Make Money
- Affiliate commissions. Many of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, or sometimes just sign up for something free, the company pays us a commission. You pay the same price you would have paid going direct. The commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not out of your pocket.
- Display advertising. We show ads supplied by advertising networks. Those ads are selected and served by the network, not chosen by us, and their presence on a page says nothing about the surrounding article.
- Sponsored content. From time to time a company pays us to publish an article, place a mention, or run a campaign. Sponsored content is labeled as sponsored, at the top of the piece, where you cannot miss it.
- Our own products. We sell books, guides, templates, and bundles through our store. When we recommend one of our own products, we earn the full price. That is the most direct financial interest we have anywhere on this site, and it is worth keeping in mind.
- Email. Our newsletters can carry affiliate links and sponsored placements under the same rules that apply on the site.
- Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How to Spot a Paid Link
We disclose in three places.
- A short disclosure near the top of any article containing affiliate links, before the first link appears
- A label on sponsored articles, sponsored sections, and paid placements
- This page, linked in the footer of every page on the site
If a link takes you to a place where you can buy something, assume we may earn from it. That is the safest way to read this site, and it is usually correct.
What a Commission Does Not Buy
This is the part that matters most.
- No company pays us for a positive review. We do not accept payment in exchange for a favorable opinion, a rating, a ranking position, or the removal of criticism. If a company asks for that, we decline, and we will say so in the piece if it is relevant to you.
- Commission rates do not determine our recommendations. Some programs pay far better than others. We do not order our recommendations by what pays best, and we regularly recommend free options, library books, government resources, and competitors who pay us nothing.
- Sponsors do not get editorial approval. A sponsor can approve the copy in its own sponsored placement. A sponsor cannot review, edit, or veto anything else we publish, and a sponsorship does not protect a company from criticism elsewhere on the site.
- We recommend things we would recommend anyway. Our test is simple. Would we suggest this to a friend in the same situation, with no money involved. If the answer is no, it does not go in.
- We are willing to say something is not worth it. Plenty of what we cover, especially in the money and career space, is overpriced, oversold, or unnecessary for most women. Saying so costs us commission and we say it anyway.
Advertising We Do Not Control
Display ads on this site are served automatically by advertising networks based on their own targeting, which may use information about your browsing. We do not choose which specific ads appear, we do not review the advertisers, and we do not endorse the products advertised.
An advertisement on a page is not a recommendation from us. Treat an ad exactly as you would treat an ad anywhere else, and be especially careful with anything promising fast money, guaranteed returns, debt elimination, or credit repair. Those categories attract bad actors, and an ad slot is not a vetting process.
If you see an ad on this site that appears deceptive or harmful, please tell us at hello@womensoutfront.com. We can block advertisers and categories, and we do.
Financial Products and Offers
Some of our content covers credit cards, bank accounts, savings accounts, loans, insurance, and investing platforms. A few points apply specifically to those.
- We do not include every available product in a category, and the products we cover are not a complete market survey
- Rates, fees, bonuses, terms, and eligibility change constantly and may have changed since publication. Always confirm the current terms on the provider’s own page before applying
- Approval, rates, and terms depend on your credit profile and circumstances, so what you are offered may differ from what is advertised
- Any opinion, rating, or analysis is ours alone. It has not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by any bank, card issuer, insurer, or other provider
- Applying for some products involves a credit check that may affect your credit score
Nothing here is financial advice, and our [Disclaimer] explains that in full.
Your Purchases Are With the Seller
When you buy through an affiliate link, your contract is with that seller, not with us. Pricing, availability, delivery, returns, warranties, customer service, and privacy are all handled by them under their own terms.
We cannot process a refund for a purchase made on another company’s site, and we are not responsible for a third party’s product or service. If something goes wrong with an outside purchase, contact that seller directly. You can still tell us about it, and if a company repeatedly lets our readers down we drop it.
Products Sent to Us
If a company sends us a product to review, we say so in the review. Receiving a free product does not obligate us to cover it, to cover it favorably, or to cover it at all.
Our Own Products
We promote our own books, guides, and templates throughout the site. We think they are good and we price them to be affordable, but we are hardly neutral about them. Read our sales pages the way you would read any other sales page, use the description and sample material to decide, and remember that our [Refund and Returns Policy] treats digital products as final sale.
Reader First
Affiliate income only works long term if you keep coming back, and you will only keep coming back if what we tell you turns out to be true. That alignment is real, but it is not a guarantee of anything, so please do your own research before spending money on anything we mention, ours included.
If you would rather not contribute to affiliate revenue, you can search for a product by name instead of clicking our link. The content stays free either way.
